Zero A Rifle The Easy Way With Red-i-Laser
Traditionally, it used to be expensive and time consuming to zero a rifle using live ammunition. However, Red-i-Laser has started to develop a revolutionary new way to zero a rifle in 1996, using our innovative and patented laser bore sight. Now you too can set your riflescope easily, accurately and noiselessly like thousands of other hunters and riflemen across the world.
To use the Red-i-Laser cartridge as a bore sight, insert it into the chamber. Carefully close the bolt without forcing it and the unit will be activated, shining the laser directly down the barrel. Aim on a target that is about 25m away and carefully document the position of laser dot in relation to the crosshair of the rifle’s telescope; note this on the provided reference card. Use a fluorescent or shaded surface when you perform this exercise in bright ambient light conditions to ensure optimum visibility of the laser dot.
You would have to consult your ammunition trajectory chart to properly zero your rifle because different types of ammunition have different trajectories. When Red-i is used as a training or aiming tool, activate the unit and, in low light, aim at a target at least 50m away and keep the dot as still as possible. If you have zeroed your rifle with Red-i, but the live ammunition grouping is still off-centre, the barrel may be slightly bent (which is unlikely) or the chamber may not be completely in line with the bore of the barrel (the most likely cause).
Red-i-Laser’s laser bore sight makes it easy to zero a rifle. For more information on this revolutionary product, contact us today.
